Rosewood Farm 2024 CSA Shares

Spring CSA: Starting the first week of May - total of 4 weeks . Join us for the first of the season produce. We call this the “greens and things” box. You can expect different lettuces, greens, salad mixes, spinach, and first of the season carrots, beets, radishes and more.

Summer CSA: 16 weeks of the best of summer produce. Running First week of June through mid September. This can include: tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, herbs, beets, carrots, salad greens, kholrabi, peas, beans, onions, squash and more. We will also be adding local sweet corn.

Fall CSA: Running a duration of 5 weeks, from the first week of October through early November. Savor the flavors of summer and welcome the bounty of fall with 4-6 items of winter squash, carrots, hardy greens, lettuce, spinach, radish, peppers, kohlrabi, herbs, beets, turnips, arugula.

CSA Sizes

Full Share (Available all seasons)- Expect 5-10 items for each pickup. Perfect for 3-4 people that eat vegetables throughout the week, or 2 people that eat vegetables every day.

Half Share (Available all seasons)- Expect 4-8 items each week. Perfect for 1-2 people that eat vegetables throughout the week.

Personal Share (Available Summer only)- Expect 3-5 items each week. Great for someone looking to add vegetables to their diet each week

Bi-weekly Half Shares- (available Summer only)- For those with busy schedules that don’t want to commit to a full summer share- only 8 weeks of shares.

Savor Summer Share- (August only)- 4 weeks of the height of summer produce. You can expect a Half Share worth of the best of summer vegetables.

*variety in boxes subject to availability of seasonal produce. We commit to providing up to 90% vegetables grown directly by our farm in Sugar Grove. We also like to support local farms in the area if we have a crop fail or cannot produce enough. We will always notify you when we feature another farm.

** CSA share is non-refundable, but we are willing to work with you to get you your weekly product. See our FAQ if you are unable to receive your box a certain week. If you do not respond and do not pickup your box, we will try to donate the produce to a food bank.

CSA FAQ

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. In this program, a member buys a share at the beginning of the growing season, receives a weekly allotment of the harvest, and shares in some of the risk associated. This system helps to create stability for the farm, and foster a direct relationship between farmer and consumer.

What is included in a CSA share?

Our weekly CSA box is intended for a family of 4 or 2-3 veggie enthusiasts! Everything offered in your weekly share was gown with organic practices right in Sugar Grove, IL. We are on a mission to provide our members with the highest quality produce we can offer. We are very passionate about our work and enjoy sharing that with our CSA members. Every week we will email you with what to expect in your weekly share as well as recipes and farm updates.

How do I retrieve my CSA share?

When registering for your CSA share you will be given a choice to pick up your weekly box on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays. The pick up day chosen during registration will be the pick up day you retrieve your box each week throughout the CSA season. If you are not able to make it on your pick up day, no worries! For your convenience, you can retrieve your CSA share up to 24 hours after you initial pick up date. You will need to arrange a pickup time with Rosewood Farm. If after 2 days your CSA share has not been picked up, we will try to donate to a local food bank.

What if I am unable to pick up my CSA box?

If for any reason throughout the season you are not able to make it out to pick up your CSA share you have a few options.

1) Use your Vacation week- Let us know you are missing a week, and we will provide an extra makeup share the following week. Only one vacation share available per customer.

3) Ask a family member, neighbor, or friend to retrieve your box for you.

2) Let us know via email at info@rosewfarm.com at least 24 hours in advance, and we will try our best to work something out for your specific situation.
